I fell into the trap of thinking that Ellaria Sand had turned over a new leaf and was ready to obey the rules. In hindsight I don’t know what I was thinking as she showed her true colours at the end of the season. She always seems on the verge of causing a storm.

The same goes for Nick Kyrgios, who I equally underestimated only a few months ago. I forgave his previous antics and put it down to youthful exuberance, only for him to put his foot in it again. Currently him seems addicted to the trouble, just like Ellaria.

All the controversy abounding from Australian tennis at the moment draws parallels with the Sand family and their penchant from causing mischief. Tyene Sand, the good-looking sister of Ellaria, may seem sweet and innocent but seems to mean business herself. Thanasi Kokkinakis anyone?
