While the singles get most of the attention, the doubles action has been good at Wimbledon, as well.  Here are predictions for the men’s and women’s doubles finals.

On the men’s side at Wimbledon, we’ve got a matchup between two French teams.  Top seeds Nicholas Mahut and Pierre-Hughes Herbert will face off against the unseeded team of Julien Benneteau and Edouard Roger-Vasselin.

Both teams have a Grand Slam title to their credit. Mahut and Herbert were the 2015 champions at the U.S. Open.  In addition, they were the runners-up at the 2015 Australian Open.  Benneteau and Roger-Vasselin, on the other hand, won the 2014 French Open.

Prediction:  This is a tough one.  Both teams have had impressive victories to make it into the final.  You almost have to have impressive victories in doubles.  I’ll take Mahut and Herbert to win in five sets, however.  I think that they are a slightly better team.

More from Majors

On the women’s side, the Williams sisters will face off against the fifth seeds, Yaroslava Shvedova of Kazakhstan and Timea Babos of Hungary.  The Williams sisters are aiming for their 14th Grand Slam title in doubles together and their first since 2012.  Shvedova and Babos both have good resumes in doubles.  Shvedova has been to five Grand Slam finals in women’s doubles, winning two back in 2010, including Wimbledon.  Babos made the Wimbledon doubles final in 2014 with Kristina Mladenovic.

Prediction:  I think that the Williams sisters do get that 14th title and take the title in straight sets. They’ve played very good tennis and have dispatched some very good teams here, such as Ekaterina Makarova and Elena Vesnina.
