Caroline Wozniacki is off to a fantastic start in 2017. Here’s a look at how she fared during the months of January and February on tour.

Caroline Wozniacki is a former world No. 1 in women’s singles tennis.

The Danish professional tennis player is the current world No. 15 and looks to be rising in the rankings with each tournament she plays. She caps her February play off with a finals appearance at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships.

Wozniacki finished runner-up to Ukrainian tennis player Elina Svitolina in Dubai. The Dane did, however, win five matches before the finals meeting with Svitolina. Up until the finals, Wozniacki dropped just one set in the tournament.

The finals appearanec in Dubai was her second finals in two weeks. Just prior to Dubai, Wozniacki took home second place at the Qatar Total Open in Doha. Her wins in Doha included one over current world No. 6 Agnieszka Radwanska and another over rising star Monica Puig.

Wozniacki would eventually fall in the finals at the Qatar Open to world No. 3 Karolina Pliskova. The tournament was, however, another strong showing by the Dane.

Looking back at her performance in January, Wozniacki opened her 2017 WTA Tour in formidable fashion. While she did not reach any finals in the month of January, she did advance to the third round in each of the three tournaments she played in. This included play in Auckland, Sydney, and then again at the 2017 Australian Open.

The world No. 10, Johanna Konta, held off Wozniacki in the round of 32 at Melbourne Park, but it was another solid showing by the former world No. 1. Play at the start of the year is always more unpredictable. A fine January turned into an even better February for Caroline Wozniacki. Now, she is poised to continue rising in the rankings and take her play right into the second Grand Slam of the year at Roland Garros.
