Eugenie Bouchard sees another early tournament exit at the Monterrey Open. It is now four straight tournaments where she has lost her opening match.
Eugenie Bouchard is upset early yet again at the Monterrey Open.
Her opening round loss makes it her fourth straight WTA tournament where she has lost her opening match. While it is no time to panic, Bouchard must overcome her current losing streak.

Bouchard is the current world No. 56. She has reached as high as No. 5 which came in 2014.
The opening round loss at the Monterrey Open came against Sara Sorribes Tormo. The Spanish tennis player is the current world No. 98. Sorribes Tormo has just recently broken into the top 100.
What is happening with Eugenie Bouchard in 2017?
The young Canadian tennis player has now lost her opening round match at the Mexican Open, Indian Wells, the Miami Open, and now at Monterrey.
While she was not a seeded player at Monterrey, Bouchard’s history of success always makes her a contender at any tournament she participates in. At just 23-years-old, she has plenty of time to get her play back in order. Genie has made several changes to her team coming into this year and it could be that there is a slight learning curve with her new approach to the game. As for Monterrey, world No. 1 Angelique Kerber remains the favorite to win.
The French Open is about two months away. Eugenie Bouchard reached the semifinals at Roland Garros in 2014. She must take advantage of her upcoming tournaments to prepare for the upcoming Grand Slam. Stay tuned to see how Genie fares in the coming weeks.
