Roger Federer is always a fan favorite on the ATP World Tour. That has not and will never change. The Swiss great shared his title with the fans this month.

In his post-finals speech, Roger Federer noted that this win was also for the fans. He is one of the most personable players on the ATP World Tour. Despite his being one of the greatest athletes in sports, Federer remains humble and always appreciates the support his fans give him.

Federer met South Korean tennis player Hyeon Chung in the semifinals. Although Chung retired due to blisters in the second set, Federer acknowledged the fantastic run that the rising tennis star had this year. Look for the South Korean to have an impact on the 2018 ATP World Tour. His performance at Melbourne Park is unprecedented in his career and with him being just 21-years-old, there is no reason to think he won’t be back on the biggest of stages again soon.

Roger Federer met Hyeon Chung in what was the South Korean’s first ever semifinals appearance in a Grand Slam.

Chung’s brilliant run at the 2018 Australian Open gave him a 29 position jump in the rankings. He is one of the next generation of tennis stars already having an impact on the ATP World Tour. Others such as Alexander Zverev and Grigor Dimitrov are looking to make names for themselves in the coming months. Also reaching the semifinals was young British star Kyle Edmund. He fell to eventual runner-up Marin Cilic in his semifinals match. Look for these young rising stars to continue challenging the likes of Roger Federer and other veteran greats.
