Sloane Stephens is into the fourth round at the 2018 French Open. The performance matches her best at the Grand Slam tournament.

American tennis star Sloane Stephens is making waves yet again at the French Open. She has previously reached the fourth round of play four times throughout her young career. After winning the 2017 US Open, Stephens burst onto the scene in women’s singles tennis. Now, she reaches the fourth round at Roland Garros for a fifth time. She could go even further if she keeps it up.

Stephens defeats Camila Giorgi of Italy in order to reach the round of 16.

Her run at Roland Garros has featured some fantastic tennis. Stephens enters the Grand Slam as the 10th seed on the women’s singles side of the action. She is a top contender but ought to be considered somewhat of an underdog. The heavy favorites are Simona Halep, Australian Open champion Caroline Wozniacki, and others such as Petra Kvitova, Angelique Kerber or Elina Svitolina. Several young stars and veteran greats are also posing a threat this year.
