Nick Kyrgios has an unparalleled reputation on and off the ATP World Tour. He is defending himself this week as he continues on at Wimbledon.

Nick Kyrgios finds himself having to defend his lifestyle, aspirations, and more this week at the 2018 Wimbledon Championships. 2013 French Open women’s singles champion Marion Bartoli called out both the Australian and French tennis veteran Gael Monfils for “wasting their lives.”

According to Kyrgios and Monfils though, the comment comes completely out of left field. Monfils, a major fan favorite on the ATP World Tour, responded by saying that Bartoli should not criticize people she does not know. He is not paying anymore attention to the commentary. Monfils is well-known for his athleticism on the courts and is into the round of 16 at the Grand Slam. It is his best career performance at the Wimbledon Championships.

Kyrgios is also making a run at Wimbledon this year. The young Australian is just 23-years-old and finds himself on the heels of his career best quarterfinals run that he made back in 2014. He faces Japanese tennis star Kei Nishikori next. Kyrgios is no stranger to controversy. Typically though, it is Kyrgios who is the cause for the controversy. This time, it’s an ex tennis player and former French Open champion in Bartoli who is garnering attention for her claiming that Kyrgios and Monfils do not have what it takes to win a Grand Slam. Kyrgios did not hold back in his response to the unprovoked commentary. He took to social media to defend himself.

Nick Kyrgios responds to Marion Bartoli: “Don’t judge! Stay in your lane, wish good for others and walk your own path!”

There is never a dull moment in the life and career of Nick Kyrgios. This time, however, there isn’t much beyond a spectator’s critique of two players still in the main draw at Wimbledon. Bartoli is an extremely accomplished player in her own right but so are both Nick Kyrgios and Gael Monfils. They remain focused on their current play at the 2018 Wimbledon Championships. The favorites on the men’s side of the draw are defending champion Roger Federer and current Roland Garros men’s singles champ Rafael Nadal. Check back to see if Kyrgios or Monfils can continue to stun the field this year at Wimbledon.
