Dominic Thiem tells fans that his back is fully recovered and that he’s eyeing his return to play at Hamburg later this month.

Dominic Thiem saw an early exit this year at the Wimbledon Championships. Entering the Grand Slam as the tournament’s number seven seed on the men’s singles side, he was an outside favorite for the title. He was recently fresh off of a runner-up finish at the 2018 French Open. Falling to King of Clay Rafael Nadal, Thiem fell just short of his first career major tournament title at Roland Garros. Nadal took the finals meeting 6–4, 6–3, 6–2.

Next came at tune-up at the Halle Open before Wimbledon. In London, Thiem found himself facing Marcos Baghdatis in his opener. The Cypriot tennis veteran commanded an early lead before it was also clear that Thiem’s back had gotten the best of him.

It appears that his injury was minor and fans are happy to hear he is ready to play this coming week. Action in Hamburg kicks off next week. He will be one of the featured singles players at the ATP event.

Dominic Thiem posts to social media this week, confirming that his back is fully recovered. He is ready for action at the German Open Tennis Championships.
