Reaching the finals in 2014, Bouchard is fighting to claw back into the headlines of the WTA Tour. As of late, the likes of Simona Halep, Caroline Wozniacki, Garbine Muguruza, and others have overtaken the sport. Even veteran legends such as Serena Williams and Maria Sharapova are entering a new era in their careers. The Czech tennis star would win her second career Wimbledon singles title that year, defeating Genie 6–3, 6–0. Kvitova has made quite the resurgence recently on the tour. The 2014 WTA Tour was, however, spectacular for the Canadian Bouchard. She reached two Grand Slam semifinals before advancing to the finals in London. That year, Genie would go as high as the world number five position in women’s singles tennis.

Eugenie Bouchard remains one the most popular players on the WTA Tour whether she is winning tournaments or not. Recently, she made it to the Swiss Open semifinals before retiring due to injury. Bouchard cancelled her next tournament action at the Jiangxi Open.
