Djokovic Federer 2018 Paris Masters Semifinals: The two complete what might be the most spectacular match of the year.

The Djokovic Federer match at the Paris Masters this week is one for the history books. The two tennis legends complete what Nole referred to as the “most spectacular match I was a part of this year.” Watch Novak Djokovic in his post-match interview following his victory over Roger Federer at the 2018 Paris Masters.

Coming away with the win, Nole advances to the finals going 7-6 (6), 5-7, 7-6 (3). Here is a look at Djokovic winning match point over Federer in the Paris Masters semifinals.

Their semifinals meeting could have gone either way. Djokovic mentioned that the two tennis stars went toe to toe on the courts and even implied that the match could have easily gone Federer’s way. The back and forth nature of the semifinals meeting in Paris is a microcosm of the entire 2018 ATP World Tour.

Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer have been atop the rankings in men’s singles tennis throughout the past several months. Nole roared to the top yet again after taking a title in Wimbledon and then at the US Open. Federer came out hot in 2018, winning the Australian Open and has been a force at any tournament he’s played in.

Next. BEST EVER: Federer or Serena?. dark

The Djokovic Federer rivalry is one for the ages. They are two of arguably the greatest, if not the greatest, tennis players to ever play the sport. The ATP World Tour has largely been controlled by them and Rafael Nadal for much of the past decade plus. And, with Nadal struggling right now due to injury, his chances at the ATP Finals in London are in doubt. Juan Martin del Potro has already withdrawn due to injury, making the likelihood of a Djokovic or Federer title even more plausible. Stay tuned to see if these two tennis legends face each other once more at the ATP Finals in London and if either of them can close off the 2018 ATP World Tour with another win.
