By Harry Floyd
Top 10 Young Tennis Players – #7 is Australian Nick Kyrgios. He is always a wildcard on the tennis courts but has potential to be a legend.
Whether or not Australian Nick Kyrgios ends up being one of the great tennis players of his generation is up to him. He is always one for the dramatic both on and off the tennis courts. His on the court antics have gotten him into trouble in the past but Kyrgios is capable of competing with the best. He has already proven it on the ATP World Tour.
Nick Kyrgios has four ATP singles titles as of the 2018 ATP World Tour. Three of those came in 2016 and there are likely more coming. If Kyrgios wants to be great, he will be. The Australian has already reached the quarterfinals in two grand slam singles events. One of those came at his home country slams in the 2015 Australian Open.
Look for Kyrgios to never disappoint whenever he steps onto a tennis court. He is easily one of the rising tennis stars to watch in men’s singles. His stark rise in the rankings is almost unprecedented but the question remains as to if he can maintain his place atop the sport. Motivation is a key factor when it comes to determining his success. Kyrgios could be, however, a top 10 ATP player next year if he wants to be.
