American men’s doubles legend Mike Bryan has partnered with Jack Sock this year and it couldn’t have come at a better time for Sock.

When his twin brother Bob went down due to injury, Mike Bryan tapped fellow countryman Jack Sock to be his men’s doubles partner. Their pairing has been one for the history books. The sport of tennis knows the Bryan Brothers well. The two twins have been together for all but five of Mike Bryan’s doubles titles. Sock’s 2018 ATP World Tour has been blessed thanks to Bryan.

Men’s singles tennis has been fortunate enough to watch the comeback of Novak Djokovic in the second half of the year. The sport has, however, also had the brilliant spectacle of a Sock-Bryan pairing in men’s doubles.

Sock was thought to be the next great player in American men’s tennis just one year ago. His singles game has struggled though. He could not live up to the expectations put on him after soaring up the singles rankings. For now, that is quite alright. Sock will undoubtedly regain some confidence thanks to his playing alongside Bryan in men’s doubles.

After cracking the ATP Top 10 in men’s singles, Jack Sock was thought to be the next big thing in the sport. Little did he know his game would translate better in doubles.

A career high ranking in men’s doubles solidifies Sock’s place in the sport. Despite his recent struggled on the singles side of the action, he can rest assured that his game is in tact.

At such a young age, fans and players alike know that he will rebound on the singles circuit. He can take his time there, especially now that he’s been given incredible moment in his pairing with Bryan.

The 2019 ATP World Tour will be extremely interesting for Sock. Not only will his singles game continue to come under the microscope, but now his doubles potential has been revealed. If Bryan retires or partners back with brother Bob once he is fully recovered, Sock could pose a threat on the men’s doubles circuit with another partner.

Men’s doubles legend Mike Bryan completes another stellar year on the ATP World Tour. The big caveat is that he has done it without the aid of his twin brother Bob. In his place came American Jack Sock and the younger Sock rose to the occasion. Two Grand Slam titles and a win at the ATP Finals in London puts Sock right there with the elite players in men’s doubles.
