Eugenie Bouchard has told fans and the tennis world that she is ready for the 2019 WTA Tour. The young Canadian rallied toward the end of last year and appears poised for success in the coming months. That could all start at the ASB Classic in Auckland, Australia.
HERE, Bouchard shares a photo with fans via her Instagram account. She is enjoying her time around Auckland, posing alongside a helicopter.
First up for Genie in Auckland is American tennis player Madison Brengle. The 28-year-old American is the current world number 88 in women’s singles tennis. Bouchard, on the other hand, enters the year as the world number 87. Both players are looking to remain in the WTA Top 100 and continue rising during the early 2019 tournament action.
How high can Eugenie Bouchard go on the 2019 WTA Tour?
Bouchard’s time leading up to the ASB Classic was also complete with a zip line experience. HERE, she shares a zip line video selfie with fans via her Instagram account. The young Canadian is constantly sharing her off the court adventures with fans.
For example, earlier this month she wore an ugly Christmas sweater and took to Instagram to show it off. See more of Genie’s ugly Christmas sweater HERE. Prior to the recent holiday season, Bouchard took to social media to share her Halloween week nights out with friends. See more of her on Halloween HERE.
Action at the ASB Classic is a great lead-in to the Australian Open. While players such as Brengle and Bouchard are looking for any and all momentum, players such as defending Australian Open champion Caroline Wozniacki have high expectations. Wozniacki is OUR PICK to take the women’s singles title at Melbourne Park this year. Also keep an eye on current French Open champion Simona Halep who looks to remain atop the rankings this year on the WTA Tour.
Stay tuned to see how Eugenie Bouchard fares against American Madison Brengle this week. If she can gain some early momentum in Auckland, Bouchard could continue to rise in the women’s singles rankings early on the 2019 WTA Tour.
