Health, health, health; we cannot stress it enough as that will be the biggest factor for Rafael Nadal at this year’s Australian Open.
Will Rafael Nadal be healthy enough to make a championship run at the 2019 Australian Open? We don’t know. Nadal claims that he will be 100 percent by the time action at Melbourne Park comes around but recent withdrawals and precautions are cause for some doubt.
If, and it’s a big if, Rafa is healthy enough to go at the Australian Open, he is the number three favorite in men’s singles to take the title. Nadal is former champion at the major tournament, winning back in 2009.
It comes as no surprise that the King of Clay has performed best at the French Open throughout his career. His play at Roland Garros is unparalleled but he needs to prove that he can hang with the likes of other champions at the Australian Open.
While we cannot say whether or not we believe Nadal and his team regarding his health until we see him play, you cannot discount the Spanish superstar. He is arguably one of the best tennis players to ever grace a court, making our list of the Top 10 Men’s Players in Open Era.
