9 – Tomas Berdych at the 2019 Australian Open

Tomas Berdych’s had a good start to the 2019 ATP Tour after having a sporadic 2018, missing much of it through injury. However, the 33-year-old had a good tournament in Doha a few weeks ago where he reached the final.

There’s no doubting Berdych’s talent as he’s reached the semi-final of the Australian Open twice before. However, his recent injury could mean that it’ll take him some time to re-adjust to the best-of-five format.

He has a tough first round match against 13th seed Kyle Edmund who reached the semi-final last year. However, should he come through that, there would be the chance to play Rafael Nadal in the fourth round. Berdych beat Nadal at the Australian Open in 2015.
