8 – Denis Shapovalov at the 2019 Australian Open

2018 was a steady but unspectacular year for Denis Shapovalov. This year he needs to kick on and show people the talent he has on a regular basis. Consistent and competitive tennis is key for him on the 2019 ATP Tour.

The 19-year-old is seeded 25th at the Australian Open this year and will face experienced Spaniard Pablo Andújar in the first round. Unfortunately for Shapovalov, he is due to play the early favorite and six-time champion Novak Djokovic in the third round. This could, however, be an opportunity for the young Canadian to put in an excellent performance or maybe even pull off a shocking upset over the world number one?
