American Sofia Kenin has partnered up with Eugenie Bouchard in women’s doubles again following a win earlier this year in Auckland.

Sofia Kenin has been a player to watch in women’s singles tennis for the better part of the past year. Now, she is also a force in women’s doubles. Earlier this year, Kenin partnered up with Canadian Eugenie Bouchard at the ASB Classic in Auckland, Australia. The two went on a dream run in Auckland and look to repeat that magic yet again.

Kenin and Bouchard open their time at the Dubai Tennis Championships this week with a win in women’s doubles. Coincidentally, both players also win their opening matches on the women’s singles side of the field.

Facing Abigail Spears and Yang Zhaoxuan, Kenin and Bouchard take the opening round match in three sets. They take on the tournament’s fourth seeded Kateřina Siniaková and Jelena Ostapenko next at the Dubai Tennis Championships.

On the women’s singles side this week, here is a look at some of the early winners and losers. Ostapenko is among the early losers and has a lot to play for in their upcoming doubles match if she hopes to remain in contention this week. Kenin and Bouchard will play the role of underdogs as they take on the fourth seeded doubles pairing next.

If Kenin and Bouchard can keep it up, the two will be an interesting pairing to keep an eye on moving forward. At the Australian Open this year, Kenin partnered up with Mona Barthel. The two dropped their opener. The young American was already someone to watch in women’s singles but if she has truly found her stride in doubles, Kenin could be unstoppable. The sport is witnessing several new names breakthrough as of late and she is one of them.
