Roger Federer is no stranger to making history. Arguably the greatest player ever, he wins the Dubai Tennis Championships to earn title number 100.

Swiss tennis legend Roger Federer makes history yet again by taking home his eighth title in men’s singles at the Dubai Tennis Championships. The greatest champion to ever grace the courts in Dubai also wins his 100th career singles title. He becomes the second player ever to hit triple digit wins. The only man ahead of him, Jimmy Connors, congratulated him via Twitter.

In the Dubai final, Federer gets revenge on rising ATP star Stefanos Tsitsipas. Federer defeats the Greek tennis star, winning 6-4, 6-4. Look out for Federer moving forward. He could win plenty more on the 2019 ATP Tour.

At the Australian Open earlier this year, Tsitsipas ousted the Swiss great in the round of 16. This time around though, Federer evens the score on his younger counterpart. Federer entered the Dubai Tennis Championships playing his first tournament since action at Melbourne Park.

Following his win over Tsitsipas, Federer was nothing but the fantastic sportsman that he always is. He both acknowledged the great Connors and the future of the men’s tennis in Tsitsipas. It’s hard to ever bet or root against Federer. He is a fan favorite and continues to make history, even at 37-years-old. There could easily be many more past 100 for Federer in the near future.

"“If I reach milestones like this along the way it’s wonderful, but I’m really not here to shatter all the records. What Jimmy did was an unbelievable achievement and he should be proud of that. I’m proud of other things I have done. It was a special evening playing Stefanos and seeing the future coming up. It’s part of the journey.” – Roger Federer following his title at the 2019 Dubai Tennis Championships"
