Romanian tennis star Simona Halep enters both the singles and doubles action at the Miami Open this week. Here’s how she stacks up against the field.
Simona Halep is all smiles as she prepares for play at the 2019 Miami Open. Take a look for yourself. The Romanian tennis star enters the field as the current world number three on the WTA Tour in women’s singles. She is the second seed in the main draw this month, behind just Naomi Osaka. The third seed is Petra Kvitova.
On Halep’s side of the action is WTA Finals champion Elina Svitolina among others. As always, the women’s singles main draw is packed with talent. Let’s dive deeper into Halep’s path to a possible title in Miami.

Up first for the Romanian tennis star will be the winner of Taylor Townsend and Johanna Larsson. Townsend is coming off of two strong wins in qualifying and Larsson is an accomplished veteran with two WTA singles titles and 13 doubles titles to her name.

Halep could possibly encounter the likes of Lesia Tsurenko, Carla Suárez Navarro, Danielle Collins, Daria Kasatkina, Venus Williams, and… Serena Williams.
