David Goffin continues winning at the 2019 Miami Open. Can he keep it up and continue to rise in the men’s singles rankings?

Former world number seven David Goffin wins yet another match at the 2019 Miami Open. The Belgian tennis star is inching his way back to the top of the sport. So far in Miami, Goffin has knocked out the likes of both Pablo Andújar and the 14th seeded Marco Cecchinato.

Can Goffin keep it up? We have seen both veteran greats and rising ATP stars make headlines at the Miami Open so far this month. Goffin falls somewhere in-between these groups…

The Belgian tennis star is 28-years-old and has an impressive resume to his name. He is a four-time title winner in men’s singles action. Two titles came first in 2014 and then he won another two more in 2017.

Don’t let the time in-between fool you. Goffin is the real deal. All the current world number 20 needs to bounce back towards career highs is a stretch of two or more deep tournament runs.

Despite a slow start to the year, a healthy and competitive Goffin can do damage across the ATP Tour. Elsewhere at the 2019 Miami Open, women’s singles action is cruising along with some of the biggest names in the sport threatening.

The win for Halep is huge. As for Goffin, the men’s singles field does not get any less competitive from here. Kevin Anderson and Roger Federer, along with defending champion John Isner, all remain alive. Goffin needs to continue to keep up the pace if he hopes to challenge any of the best of the ATP Tour for a title at the 2019 Miami Open.
