The 2025 Cincinnati Open begins on August 7 (qualifying is on August 5 and 6), and the Masters 1000 has an unusual schedule. The tournament will stretch into two different weeks, and the finals on the WTA and ATP sides are on Monday. Usually, tournaments end on Sundays.
As of this article's posting, only three players have withdrawn. One is Jack Draper, who suffered an arm injury after Wimbledon. Grigor Dimitrov suffered a pec injury against Jannik Sinner at the grass-court major, and he is out, too.
Qinwen Zheng will also miss the event. She had elbow surgery and has already withdrawn from the US Open, too. Her timeline to return is unknown.
All you need to know ahead of the 2025 Cincinnati Open
The seeds in Cincinnati should follow the ATP and WTA rankings. Jack Draper, the current ATP No. 5, won't play with an arm injury, though, so, assuming Novak Djokovic plays, the Serb will be the fifth seed.
Otherwise, on the ATP side, the top five seeds will be Jannik Sinner, Carlos Alcaraz, Alexander Zverev, Taylor Fritz, and Djokovic. Sinner will likely be the heavy favorite.
On the WTA side, the top five seeds should be Aryna Sabalenka, Coco Gauff, Iga Swiatek, Jessica Pegula, and Mirra Andreeva. Swiatek might be a sneaky-good bet to win the tournament.

Who will win the 2025 Cincinnati Open?
Sinner has to be the heavy favorite in Cincinnati, and moving forward, for most of the rest of the year. His win at Wimbledon over Alcaraz in the final is massive. He proved he could defeat the Spaniard on a surface that isn't a hard court. But the Italian is easily the best player in tennis on hard surfaces, and picking against him seems foolish.
On the women's side, Sabalenka should be the favorite to defend her crown, but last summer, Coco Gauff was undergoing a swoon. She is in much better form this year, and the guess here is that she wins in Cincinnati.
