The 2024 Met Gala is in the books but not before an elegant display of fashion and beauty on the iconic steps. This year's theme was "Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion" which was interpreted in many ways by the biggest celebrities on the planet. This New York event always has strong support among the members of the tennis community. Roger Federer was a co-chair last year.

At last year's event, Serena Williams also shocked the world by showing up with a baby bump and announcing her pregnancy. Suffice it to say, anything goes at the Met Gala, and tennis and fashion fans enjoy watching the stars' entrances.

Among those in attendance this year were Maria Sharapova, Serena Williams, and Venus Williams. Sharapova interpreted the theme with a flowing ornate dress; whereas; the Williams sisters each opted for metallic dresses that shimmered. Tennis fans know they were there thanks to photographs and social media. However, the trio never gathered collectively for a photo or video opportunity.

In addition to Hall of Fame tennis players, Zendaya, who played a tennis player in the 'Challengers' movie delighted fans with two iconic outfits

Sharapova was on a quest to get together with the Williams sisters during the evening but only encountered Serena and Venus separately. She made a video each time sending out a SOS signal for the other Williams sister.

Zendaya is a tennis player by association. She portrayed one in the box office smash 'Challengers' and famously was "coached" on how to act as a tennis player by legend Brad Gilbert.

At the Met Gala, she pulled off the ultimate entrance by doing it two times, in two different outfits. This is almost as amazing as her acting chops in 'Challengers.' The looks and makeup were completely different, and fans were really surprised to see her the second time.

It is not surprising to see these tennis VIPs at the Met Gala. What current players do you think will attend this event when they are retired? My guesses are Naomi Osaka, Coco Gauff, and Aryna Sabalenka. It is humorous to think about them gathering at this even in their late 30s/40s and assembling for a group picture and video.
