Finally! What all tennis fans have been waiting for: The return of Wimbledon, arguably the most prestigious and best tournament in the sport. The 2026 version promises to be extremely interesting, too.
Maybe the most notable of that is that Serena Williams is coming back to play singles at the grass-court major. She last played singles professionally at the 2022 US Open. She has played doubles recently and looked to be in fine form. How that carries over to singles remains to be seen. She will begin her run against Maya Joint in the first round.
Another first-round match to watch, among many, is Taylor Fritz versus Jack Draper. Either could win the Grand Slam, but one is going to be sent packing after the first round. That is both a shame and also makes for must-watch tennis.
