There is no shock value in who will appear in the men's final at Wimbledon 2025. This is a fantastic thing for tennis fans. We want to see Carlos Alcaraz versus Jannik Sinner, and that is what we are getting.

Both players hit with immense pace, and both have great touch. Each covers the court arguably as well as any other player on the ATP tour. They are elite offensively and defensively, but one player might have the advantage mentally.

That is because Alcaraz has won five straight matches in the head-to-head. That gives a player a lot of confidence entering a match. Plus, the Spaniard's dips in form are not as great as the Italian's. Still, Sinner is capable of winning the match in straight sets. Each player is.

Wimbledon 2025 men's final preview

What time is the match?

The men's final starts a bit later than in previous years. Normally, breakfast at Wimbledon meant a 2 pm BST (9 am ET) start time, but that was more like a late lunch in London. Now, it's early dinner in the UK and brunch in the eastern United States.

The match will begin at 4 pm BST (11 am ET). Since this is Alcaraz versus Sinner, we can expect a long match and be shocked if it isn't. In other words, the match might not end until early dinner time in the US.

Preview and who will win:

Whew...and deep breath. If you are one of the very few people on Earth who love one of these players and really dislike the other, you aren't going to want to watch. For those of us who might favor one but appreciate the utter brilliance of both, this is the kind of time you turn your phone off and tell friends and family not to contact you.

The surface might decide the winner. Sinner and Alcaraz are the two best players on any surface in the world, but each has the advantage on different surfaces. Alcaraz is slightly better on grass and clay, while Sinner is slightly better on hard courts. Wimbledon (no spoiler alert here) is played on grass.

While I hope I am wrong, I think this match might be a bit disappointing compared to the French Open. Alcaraz will win in four sets, and there won't be much drama at the end. Now, let's go ahead and write up the preview for the Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner US Open final...
