6. Andy Murray
Murray’s talent is equal to anyone on tour, but his mental issues have held him back.
2015 Record: 12-3
Career at Indian Wells: 20-9
Best Finish at Indian Wells: F (2009)
It may be alarming to find Murray this low on a list of contenders at a premier hard court event. After playing amazing tennis to reach the final at the Australian Open, Murray’s play has dropped significantly. He has lost to lesser competition in the quarterfinals of his last two tournaments.

Murray’s talent is equal to anyone on tour, but his mental issues have held him back. Those problems have been well-documented. You would think that Murray would know that the only thing holding him back from greatness is himself, but his dramatic personality is a part of who he is.
New coach Amelie Mauresmo will be looking to take the fire inside Murray and harness it into a level of tennis he can sustain for the length of a tournament. It will be interesting to see the draw come out and who Murray’s possible early round opponents may be. If he gets himself on a roll early, it could boost his confidence and mental stability in the later rounds.
