Australian Open champion Caroline Wozniacki is taking on Daria Kasatkina next at the 2018 French Open. She seeks redemption.

Caroline Wozniacki is just 1-2 against Daria Kasatkina throughout her career. The Danish tennis star and current Australian Open champion has struggled against Kasatkina. She has lost both of the matches she played against the Russian tennis star on the 2018 WTA Tour. Up next at the French Open, Wozniacki sees her biggest challenge yet in Kasatkina.

Wozniacki is yet to drop a single set at Roland Garros.

More from Lob and Smash

Kasatkina enters as the Grand Slam’s 14th seed. Wozniacki is the tournament’s second seed. She is behind just Simona Halep. Wozniacki and Halep have gone back and forth for the world No. 1 ranking this year on the WTA Tour. The two even met during the finals at Melbourne Park. Now, Wozniacki is looking to regain control of the sport by continuing on at the French Open. Her round of 16 meeting with Kasatkina, however, is no easy task.

Caroline Wozniacki has played Daria Kasatkina three times throughout her career. With a 1-2 record against the Russian tennis star, the world No. 2 is not guaranteed a win. All eyes are on their round of 16 meeting next at Roland Garros.

Wozniacki’s last year has included a WTA Finals, the Australian Open title, and a world No. 1 ranking. Despite going back and forth with Halep as of late, the Danish tennis star is entering a new era in her career. If she can continue on at the French Open, Wozniacki will cement her legacy in women’s singles tennis. Other tennis legends such as Serena Williams and Maria Sharapova are also still alive at Roland Garros. A solid mix of veteran greats and rising stars are vying for the 2018 title at the French Open.
