Wimbledon 2018 is entering week two action at the Grand Slam event. Here’s how the men’s singles draw is shaping up.

Wimbledon 2018 is seeing several of the favorites on the men’s singles side enter the second week of action. Still alive are both defending champion Roger Federer and current French Open champion Rafael Nadal. Federer remains the favorite moving forward. The Swiss superstar looks as though he is right at home at Wimbledon. French veteran Adrian Mannarino is the tournament’s number 22 seed and he takes on the defending champion next. The two square off on Monday in London.

Nadal takes on Czech tennis player Jiří Veselý in the round of 16. The young Czech is coming off of upsets over both Diego Schwartzman and FabioFognini.

The men’s singles side of the draw has more top players still in contention than the women’s side. Several top players, including Simona Halep and defending champion Garbine Muguruza have seen upsets. That isn’t to say that there haven’t been any upsets for the men though. Dominic Thiem found himself retiring due to injury during the third set of his first match at Wimbledon. The young Austrian is one of the best rising stars in the sport right now. Also losing in the round of 128 was Belgian tennis star David Goffin. He saw an unexpected straight set loss.

Wimbledon 2018 is seeing veteran greats advance into the second week of action on the men’s singles side. Roger Federer and others remain in contention. The Swiss great is yet to drop a set.

Among the veterans still vying for a title are Gael Monfils and John Isner. Both are yet to win a Grand Slam title but might have a shot at Wimbledon 2018. US Open champion Juan Martin del Potro remains alive. Serbian superstar and three-time Wimbledon champion Novak Djokovic has somewhat surprisingly looked like his old self. Despite battling injuries throughout the past year, he enters the week two action. Kei Nishikori has seen a similar trajectory as of late to Djokovic but he too continues to fight at the Grand Slam. Stay tuned to see who makes it to the final weekend at Wimbledon 2018 on the men’s singles side.
