The win over Zverev is huge for Federer. While he may have been favored heading into the match, Zverev is arguably the next superstar in men’s singles tennis. The young German is fresh off of an ATP Finals win over world number one Novak Djokovic.

Following the men’s singles meeting, Kerber took on Bencic in the women’s singles match. It would be the German tennis veteran who emerges on top. Kerber takes the match, winning the hard-fought two sets 6-4 7-6 (6).

Appropriately, the 2019 Hopman Cup would be decided in the mixed doubles match between the two teams. Once again, Team Switzerland takes home the title, defeating Germany 4-0 1-4 4-3 (5-4) in the mixed doubles matchup.

HERE, Bencic and Federer take a selfie in the reflection of their first place trophy. Federer walks away with his third career Hopman Cup title. Prior to his now two wins alongside Bencic, he won back in 2001 with tennis legend Martina Hingis. Now with back to back wins at the event, Team Switzerland appears unstoppable.
