How to watch the 2024 Davis Cup Final: Start times and channel details for Day 2
By Lee Vowell
The 2024 Davis Cup Final is underway. On Day 1, tennis fans, unfortunately, watched as a soon-to-be-retired Rafael Nadal lost to Botic Van De Zandschulp in straight sets. At the time, we were not sure if we would get to see Nadal play another professional match or if he was done.
Speaking of being done, while Germany and Canada face off on Wednesday, both teams are missing key players. Alexander Zverev will not be participating for Germany, while Felix Auger-Aliassime will not be playing for Canada. Canada made the 2023 Davis Cup Final as well but was bounced out in the group stage by Finland. Germany was not involved in the Final last year.
The favorite for the event is likely Italy with top-ranked Jannik Sinner. They will play on Thursday. So will the United States who have quite a bit of depth with players such as Taylor Fritz, Tommy Paul, and Ben Shelton.
Start time, channel, and what to expect from the 2024 Davis Cup Final Day 2
Davis Cup Final Day 2 details:
- Start time: 6 am ET and 12 pm in Malaga)
- Location: Palacio Deportes Martín Carpena in Malaga, Spain
- Surface: Indoor hard court
Because the tournament is held indoors, strange things can happen. Some great players, like Carlos Alcaraz, tend not to do as well indoors for some reason. This might level the field a bit more than normally expected. Most did not think Canada would win the Davis Cup in 2022, and yet, they did.
