Jack Draper seems to have cheated and been untruthful. The issue is that there is video evidence that proves he did something he claims to not have. Either way, the chair umpire in Draper's match against Felix Auger-Aliassime in the Cincinnati Open ruled in favor of Draper so he got his way.

What happened was that on match point in the third set with Draper leading 5-4 and 40-30 and serving, he served to the Canadian and Auger-Aliassime returned the ball which hit Draper's racket, bounced to the court, and Draper appeared to have hit the ball again. After the second hit, the ball hit the top of the net and bounced over to Auger-Aliassime's side.

The Canadian had no chance to get to the ball, Draper was awarded the point and won the match. Auger-Aliassime was in disbelief that the chair umpire ruled in favor of Draper. Had Draper been a better sportsman about the situation, he would have given the point to Auger-Aliassime. That would have been the correct thing to do.

Instead, Draper said if a replay was available that showed he struck the ball twice he would be fine with Auger-Aliassime winning the point. Draper said he didn't see what happened because he was looking at Auger-Aliassime which is illogical. The Brit could have felt the ball hit his racket twice.

Nick Kyrgios, never one to hold his tongue or keep his opinions to himself, rightfully called out Draper on social media after the match. The Australian wrote, "Mate. Horrible call, but every player knows you know exactly where you hit it hahaha ridiculous stuff."

If Draper is looked badly upon by his fellow players for what happened, he should be. Maybe he still wins the match either way, but had Auger-Aliassime won the point as he should have then the game would have gone to deuce. A break might have forced an eventual tie-break.
