Paula Badosa and Stefanos Tsitsipas are dazzling both on court and off at the Australian Open

For tennis fans enthralled with the Paula Badosa and Stefanos Tsitsipas romance, the 2024 Australian Open is the place for you. The real-life couple has their own moniker, "Tsitsidosa," good looks, and plenty of talent.

What has been missing is seeing both of them relatively healthy playing at the same tournament. Though Tsitsipas has dealt with recent injuries, he is playing through them. Badosa, on the other hand, was sidelined for more than six months with a serious back injury in 2023.

Both are through to the third round with Badosa's upcoming match being supremely interesting against American Amanda Animismova who is also returning from a prolonged break from the game.

Like it or not, Badosa and Tsitsipas know how to handle the media with precision. Their postmatch interviews on the court or in the press room are must-see television.

Badosa is genuine, and fans can tell by her facial expressions when she thinks the question she is expected to answer is ridiculous. In the latest example of this, Badosa jokingly points out to the reporter who asked her why she is playing well that her success could have something to do with talent. She goes on to explain how difficult her comeback has been physically and mentally.

Tsitsipas handled the ever-present question from John McEnroe of why he has not yet won a Grand Slam with humor and ease. He probably is tired of the question so the latest answer defers attention to his fellow competitors and Novak Djokovic.

Not everyone loves Tsitsidosa, but what cannot be disputed is that both players are talented, charismatic, and good for the game. Their wins today were sealed with a kiss. Tsitsidosa is onto round three.
